Favorites of 2020
What a year, right? I’m pretty sure we will all remember 2020! From a business standpoint, Jennifer Taylor Design had our best year. We worked on some amazing projects with clients who trusted us through every step. I’m so thankful and look forward to 2021. As tradition, I’m sharing some of my favorite things as we say goodbye to another year!
I’m starting with my favorite find of 2020. My cousin told me about this laundry detergent from Tyler and I’m in love! I started out purchasing this travel set (twice) before I committed to a scent. I add a very small amount with my regular detergent and the laundry smells amazing. I only use it on my sheets and towels. If you are a laundry connoisseur then you’ll love this product.
One of the favorite changes I made at my house this year was replacing all the ceiling fans. Every room had a white fan with polished brass accents and the most horrible lighting. It’s so hard to find a good looking fan, but this one checked all the boxes. It comes in multiple colors, doesn’t make a sound and is under $200! This is the one I put in my bedroom.
I know that travel isn’t the most popular topic right now, but I was lucky to be able to take a few trips this year. I visited Captiva, Florida for the first time, traveled to High Point for the furniture market and Christmas in Arkansas with my sister. Each time I would have never gotten my suitcase closed without packing cubes. The exact ones I have are no longer available, but these are highly recommended by one of my favorite bloggers. I promise you will thank me!
Another practical favorite is this Thermacell mosquito repeller I bought for my patio. I did a little backyard makeover during the spring and we began spending a lot of time outdoors. My son is a buffet for the mosquitoes and this was a lifesaver. You insert a little cartridge, then you heat it up with a small butane lighter inside. No smell, no mess. It’s the little gray cylinder on my table.
Finally, I’m sharing my favorite neutral paint colors from 2020. You can find them here. These are neutrals I’ve used on multiple projects and highly recommend them during my paint consultations. Sea Salt is a favorite for bathrooms and bedrooms. Before you paint, always sample the color in your room. Your lighting, floors and even furniture can change how a color looks. I had sampled about 10 colors before I landed on the best one for my house! Here is Repose Gray in my Lake Pisgah project.
Happy New Year and I only wish continued happiness for 2021.
