Favorites of 2019

Here we are. The first day of 2020! I am so grateful for a wonderful year in my business and personal life. I’m really taking this time to make plans for the new year and I’ve been organizing my house like crazy. We aren’t doing any traveling so I’ve had a lot of time to re-charge and just be plain lazy! With that, I am excited to share some of my favorite things from 2019.

I shared Hi Sugarplum! on my favorites post from 2018 and she’s back again this year. Her Instagram account is one of my favorites and I wouldn’t have half of the clothes in my closet if it weren’t for her. The recommendations are spot on for a middle-aged woman (aka me) who likes to be stylish but never wants to dress like a teenager. Go check her out! I promise you won’t be disappointed.

I love watching TV! This year I purchased the Amazon Fire TV Stick and I’m in love. So many great streaming options in one spot - Netflix, Prime, AppleTV, Hulu, etc. I’m seriously considering dumping my cable as I find myself using Fire TV more and more.

I love shopping for unique gifts and as you know, your city just doesn’t have the variety of local shops like it used to. I still SHOP LOCAL when I can, but sometimes you need to shop for that special thing at 10:00pm. This is why my next favorite thing is Etsy. It’s an online marketplace with handmade, vintage or unique gifts for everyone. I use Etsy a lot for my clients and have never been disappointed. I’m currently updating all of my Favorite Shops so you can visit some of my preferred vendors. My biggest piece of advice is to “heart” your favorite items because it’s hard to remember them later.

My last favorite thing is podcasts. I’m obsessed and am always looking for the next one to download. I do listen to a few business related ones, but I LOVE the true crime ones. All of these I’ve listened to and would recommend - some are better than others, but all are worth checking out.

  • Accused

  • Up and Vanished

  • Atlanta Monster

  • In the Dark

  • Dr. Death

  • Serial

  • Gladiator (Aaron Hernandez story)

  • Fall of a Titan (another football true crime)

  • Bear Brook

Maybe next year my favorite list will include some running shoes or a healthy food recipe, but I doubt it. I definitely live by my own motto “work hard, relax hard” and I’m not ashamed. Cheers to 2020 and I would love to hear some of your favorite things in the comments below.

Thanks for Reading!

Jennifer
