One Room Challenge {week two}

I first want to say THANK YOU to everyone who read my post last week. I always wonder if anyone is actually reading and from the numbers, you are. I’m excited to share the progress I’ve made on my master bedroom project for The One Room Challenge.

I placed a ton of orders last week for samples, they all arrived and now I’m more confused on what I want to do. I need a designer to just pull it all together and do it for me!

I have narrowed down my wall color to four options, but I won’t finalize that until all the fabrics are ordered. Those four samples on the wall are the contenders. Paint is always the last thing I pick. My pillow shams are staying, so my first selection is headboard fabric. I currently have a headboard with a slipcover and it’s being re-upholstered. Do I go bold with a floral? Or go a little wild with an animal print? Vote in the comments below with your favorite.

To keep the budget in check, I’m going to use ready-made drapery panels and add some colorful trim on the sides. Another decision I’ll make once the panels actually come in. I’m so glad ORC gave designers eight weeks (instead of the normal six) because EVERYTHING is taking longer than it normally does.

The biggest part of this project that scares me is the DIY I have planned. I’m changing the finish on my bedside lamps and leaning mirror. I love my oversized lamps, but the color has to change. Thank goodness my talented niece is coming to visit so she can help me. I’ll be taking videos and sharing that sh*t show when it happens. Oh, did I mention I’m also planning to paint myself?

Thanks for Reading!

Jennifer
