Maximizing Storage in Your Kitchen and Bathroom

Planning the storage needs is as important as selecting all the finishes when you’re remodeling your kitchen or bathroom. No matter how large or small, these rooms can always benefit from more storage. Efficient solutions can help you declutter your space, keep things organized and make your rooms more functional.

In the kitchen, cabinet organizers are essential for efficient storage. Install pull-out shelves to make accessing items in the back easier. Utilize those blind corners with specialized accessories. Also, drawer inserts are great for keeping all those small things neat and easy to find.

Also, capitalize on your vertical space. In this kitchen by Karr Brick Design, they included a china storage along one wall. The tall cabinet actually sits on the counter and fits seamlessly into the design. They also added a second row of cabinets, along the top. I like how they used solid doors so you can store anything you want here. The glass front ones are pretty, but remember you have to find pretty things to be put inside them.

If you’re just looking to make the best of what you currently have, here are some of my favorite storage items I have in my kitchen. I love using these expandable tiered shelves in my pantry. It allows me to see everything, including what’s in the back. I have two of these turntables in the small, upper cabinet by my stove. I use them for oils, cooking spray and spices I use most often. Finally, I used these acrylic drawer organizers for my silverware and utensil drawers on each side of my stove. They are sold individually so you can get the best configuration for your drawer. The bathroom is often one of the smallest room in the house, yet it’s essential for our daily routine. Keeping it organized and clutter-free can be a challenge so here are some functional and stylish ways to help you. Like I did in my kitchen, I also installed pull-out shelves in my bathroom. No more digging around in the back of the shelves! I also love using a decorative tray on the counter to keep all those creams, serums and perfumes all in one spot. If you struggle with what to do with all those magazines, look for one you can hang on the wall. This one iis above the toilet in my guest bath.

One of my favorite ways to maximize storage for my clients is with tall cabinets. Here are a few I’ve designed over the years. They can be glass front or solid doors, depending on your needs.

Maximizing storage in your kitchen and bathroom isn't just about creating a clutter-free space; it's also about making these important rooms more enjoyable. By implementing these smart storage solutions, you can create a space that simplifies your daily routines. So, roll up your sleeves and start transforming your kitchen and bathrooms into a more organized space today!
