Let’s Decorate for Thanksgiving
I love Thanksgiving! We haven’t finalized our plans for this year, but I do know we won’t be traveling or hosting. Christmas is another story as we hope to be in our new home by then. If you are hosting and need some simple ideas for decorating your Thanksgiving table, then stay tuned.
Below are some snapshots from some tables I’ve decorated over the years. For the one on the left, I found some very inexpensive salad plates and layered them over my formal china and tied a handwritten tag on a sprig of greenery for the place card. The other table was from our family dinner at the beach. It was buffet style, so we set the table with just the salad plates and used paper napkins, placemats and runner. Hester and Cook is a great source for all things paper and if you’re local to Tallahassee, My Favorite Things carries this line.
Here’s a short video of my table from last year. I rented white chairs from a local party place, lined the center of the table with ivy from my backyard, used ribbon for napkin rings and more Hester and Cook for the name tags. So simple!
Another great way to bring some easy style to your Thanksgiving table is with flowers. This is one I did a few years ago. I added a few pumpkin floral picks, some dried wheat and of course, feathers. Trader Joe’s is my favorite source for fresh flowers and Hobby Lobby for holiday decor.
Pinterest is an amazing resource for inspiration. I have a “Holidays” board with tons of ideas, if you want to check it out. In the meantime, here are some great things you can order today. Just click on the image for a direct link.
