You Can Be a VIP!

  All of my clients are important, but last week I had a meeting with what I call a VIP client.  I really like having these meetings as I feel the client gets a lot of information, in a short amount of time, and it's instant gratification.

This particular client bought a true FIXER UPPER and mainly needed my advice on how to create storage.  It's a small place on a lake, built in the 50's and it didn't have one closet.  3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and no closets.  We walked through each room and figured out ways to create storage for clothes, linens and everything else you need to hide.  We picked out colors for the outside, we talked about where they should put their deck, we picked out a front door, we even decided where the television will go and how to create a place for a desk in the tiny family room.  All of this was done in just 3 hours!  The next day, I emailed the client a copy of all the notes I made, as well as a few inspiration photos of some of the storage ideas we had talked about.  Now she has everything she needs to implement all the changes we talked about.  And as you can see from this photo, she has lots to do!

VIP meetings are great for people who just need a "jump start" on designing a room, or the whole house.  Creating a design plan can be overwhelming, so these meetings are designed to give my client a good place to start.  Another VIP client called me as she needed advice on how to pull her room together.  She had a sofa and chair she really wanted to work around - so we sat down at her kitchen table and came up with a complete plan for the room.  I even brought my laptop and shared my favorite source for rugs.  Then, after our meeting she got two pages of notes, links and inspiration photos to recap everything we talked about.
