College Countdown!
My son, Wes, starts college in just a few weeks and I’ve been working on getting everything ready for the BIG MOVE! He will be living in a dorm and was assigned an apartment style suite that includes two bedrooms (two beds in each), two bathrooms and a small kitchenette. He will have three roommates and has felt zero need to reach out to see what they plan to bring. In his defense, they have not reached out to him either. So, I’ve decided to bring all the items he may need and return anything that other roommates bring.
Twin XL Quilt & Sham
Decorative Pillow
Bath Accessories Set
Rolling Cart
Cooling Mattress Pad
Clip-On Lamp
For the bed, I kept it super simple so making it up will be easy. White sheets, gray fuzzy blanket, blue quilt with matching sham and a simple lumbar pillow so he remembers his mom is a designer. He absolutely LOVES this chair from Target! We also grabbed this rug the other day to warm up all the tile floors in the bedroom. I’ve put Wes in charge of finding things for the wall so he’s been on Etsy looking at posters.
The shower and toilet are in a separate room from the sink vanity. I found this great shower curtain and plan to add some dark gray bath mats. The sink vanity has a lot of storage so the two roommates can easily share it.
Finally, the kitchenette space is a galley style and has a small fridge, microwave and a long counter with a sink. I got this runner to put in front of the cabinets. It’s the perfect “dirt” color to hide all the messes.
As many of you know, Wes is my only child. Dropping him off at college is going to be one of the hardest things I’ll ever do. I’ve raised him, on my own, for most of his life so this is a bitter sweet victory for me. He’s worked really hard to get here and I couldn’t be more proud. I promise to share photos of his finished dorm on my Instagram account. Be sure to follow me!
